Workers at Gunns' Scottsdale sawmill in, Tasmania's north east, have been told who has received the 70 redundancies on offer.
The last shift at the Tonganah mill finishes this afternoon, with an additional 60 casual workers to lose their jobs.
Gunns is closing the Tunganah sawmill because of insufficient log supply.
The company offered around around 70 voluntary redundancies, but received a lot more applications.
Workers were handed letters this morning, advising who had been successful.
Greg LeStrange from Gunns says narrowing down the field was difficult for the company and says it's been a traumatic few days for workers.
The Tonganah sawmill closes today - the last shift ends at 2 pm (AEST).
Management has arranged for farewell barbecue for workers at the Tonganah site tomorrow.
