Electrical workers suspend industrial action

Members of a major union involved in a dispute with Tasmania's electricity supplier have decided to temporarily suspend their industrial action.

Electrical Trades Union members employed by Aurora Energy began industrial action last week, in a bid for improved pay and conditions.

The union has rejected Aurora's offer of a 14 per cent pay rise over three years and the introduction of a performance-based pay system.

The union's Kevin Harkins says his members have decided to suspend their action in the hope that Aurora will resume negotiations.

He says the ETU is due to meet Aurora representatives again next week.
